Football Game Preview: Chowchilla Tribe vs. Minarets Mustangs + Official Tickets

Chowchilla has gone a perfect 3-0 against Minarets recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Tribe will face off against the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Chowchilla's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points in their last four matchups.

While Chowchilla's win against Fowler wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Tribe had just enough and edged out the Redcats 34-31. The Tribe haven't had any issues with the Redcats recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Chowchilla relied on the efforts of Nathan Fuentes, who rushed for 145 yards and one touchdown while picking up 9.1 yards per carry, and Tristan Beardsley, who rushed for 141 yards and one TD on only 14 carries. With that strong performance, Fuentes is now averaging an impressive 104.3 rushing yards per game.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Chowchilla was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 382 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 368 rushing yards in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 36 points the game before, Minarets was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They lost 35-10 to Liberty. The matchup marked the Mustangs' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Minarets fell to 6-1. As for Chowchilla, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.

Everything came up roses for Chowchilla against Minarets in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 54-20 victory. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was the Mustangs' Torin Wolf, who rushed for 55 yards and a pair of scores on only six carries, and also threw for 190 yards on 23 of 36 attempts. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will the Tribe still be able to contain Wolf? There's only one way to find out.
