After flying high against Maranatha on Thursday, Village Christian came back down to earth. The Crusaders fell 2-0 to the Los Alamitos Griffins on Friday. The Crusaders' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

While Village Christian ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-17.

Lucy Robel paced Village Christian's offense, picking up four kills. Robel were helped by Allexa Valencia and Vivian Cherella, who contributed seven assists each.

Village Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Los Alamitos, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 17 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season.

Village Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Redwood on the 19th. As for Los Alamitos, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against Harrisburg on the 19th.
