Preview: Sunnyvale vs. Mabank
Sunnyvale has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Mabank Panthers at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Sunnyvale has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 25 goals over their last four matchups.
Sunnyvale put the finishing touches on their ninth blowout victory of the season on Saturday. They put the hurt on Kaufman with a sharp 5-1 win. With Sunnyvale ahead 3-0 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
They hit Kaufman with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from
Landon Marquez de la Plata (3),
Austin Dawdy, and
Christian Hodges.
Meanwhile, Mabank's last game on Saturday was all defense as neither team scored a goal. They and Kemp finished up on equal footing with a 0-0 draw. The result (or lack thereof) was the first time Mabank has been dealt a draw since back in January.
Sunnyvale is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3-3 record this season. With that draw, Mabank's record moves to 4-8-2.
Sunnyvale beat Mabank by a goal in their previous matchup back in March of 2023, winning 4-3. Does Sunnyvale have another victory up their sleeve, or will Mabank turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
