Basketball Recap: Keara Lipscomb-Allen Key Part of Team Effort in Mavericks Win

McCutcheon won the last time they faced Fort Wayne Snider and things went their way on Saturday too. The Mavericks managed a 62-58 win over the Panthers. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mavericks.

McCutcheon's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Keara Lipscomb-Allen led the charge by going 8-for-20 to rack up 20 points and eight rebounds. Those eight boards gave Lipscomb-Allen a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lillie Graves, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds.

McCutcheon smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 11 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Fort Wayne Snider's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Izzie Eke, who shot 55% from the field en route to 15 points in addition to eight boards and three steals, and Mackenzie Carter, who went 6-for-7 on her way to 15 points and eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Janaya Cooper, who posted six points and nine boards.

McCutcheon now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Fort Wayne Snider, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McCutcheon will welcome Lebanon at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Fort Wayne Snider, they will host Huntington North at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
