Basketball Game Preview: Lakota West Firebirds vs. Princeton Vikings

The Lakota West Firebirds will head out to challenge the Princeton Vikings at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Lakota West is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Oak Hills just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 43-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Highlanders. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Firebirds came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 27th, while the Highlanders are ranked 159th).

Meanwhile, Princeton waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They came out on top against the Middies by a score of 85-75. The Vikings' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Princeton pushed their record up to 12-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.8 points per game. As for Lakota West, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-4.

Lakota West beat Princeton 69-57 in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Will Lakota West repeat their success, or does Princeton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
