The Maritime Academy Charter Seadogs's 19-6 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They were beaten by Mastery Charter North - Pickett 70-43 on Wednesday.
Maritime Academy Charter's loss came despite strong showings from Jaseer Mann and Zibri Miller. Mann scored 15 points along with six rebounds, while Miller scored six points along with ten rebounds. Those 15 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Jadin Aviles, who scored five points.
Mastery Charter North - Pickett found their leader in underclassman Jacob Mitchell, who scored 21 points. Those 21 points set a new season-high mark for him. Samuel Creary was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Maritime Academy Charter bumped their record down to 2-7 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Mastery Charter North - Pickett, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Maritime Academy Charter and Science Leadership Academy at Beeber will face off at 3:15 p.m. on January 4, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Mastery Charter North - Pickett will be home for the holidays to greet String Theory at 3:15 p.m. on Friday.
