Softball Recap: West Greene's Winning Streak Snapped at Six Games

West Greene dropped their record down to 13-2 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's six-game streak of wins. They fell 6-1 to the Carmichaels Mighty Mikes. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Pioneers couldn't push the score so high this time.

As for Carmichaels, the win keeps they at an undefeated 14-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 10.0 runs this season.

For Carmichaels' part, the team relied heavily on Carys McConnell, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI McConnell has posted since back in April. Ali Jacobs was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one RBI.

West Greene and Carmichaels should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. The Pioneers will square off against Bentworth at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank advantage (102 vs. 272). Meanwhile, Carmichaels (ranked 71st) will meet Waynesburg Central (ranked 200th) at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Mighty Mikes 0.9, the Raiders 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
