Baseball Recap: Seward Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

Seward entered their tilt with Crete on Monday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They walked away with an 11-6 victory over the Cardinals. The Bluejays have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Cardinals, too.

Seward got a great performance from Deklan Lindau as he struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off eight hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts Lindau has posted over his last four games.

Seward always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Crete only posted an OBP of .333.

Seward's win bumped their record up to 14-4. As for Crete, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-12.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Seward is set to face off against their familiar foe Concordia/Brownell/Omaha Christian Academy at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Crete will square off against rival Waverly at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
