Recap: Chatham HomeSchool Thunder vs. South Charlotte T Thunder
The Chatham HomeSchool Thunder pushed their score all the way to 65 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were dealt a 105-65 loss at the hands of South Charlotte T. Chatham HomeSchool was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 53-33.
Chatham HomeSchool's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gray Cable, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds. Jacob Kirby was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Even though they lost, Chatham HomeSchool were working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Charlotte T only racked up 31 assists.
South Charlotte T's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Luke Rullo, who went 8 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 36 points and 4 assists. That makes it four consecutive games in which Rullo has scored at least 25% of South Charlotte T's points. Another player making a difference was Aaron Hill, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 15 assists.
This is the second loss in a row for Chatham HomeSchool and nudges their season record down to 11-7. As for South Charlotte T, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-8.
Chatham HomeSchool will play host again and welcome Wilson Christian Academy, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Wilson Christian Academy is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak. South Charlotte T will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Providence Athletic Club at 7:30 p.m. on January 4th. Providence Athletic Club presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than South Charlotte T in their respective states (Providence Athletic Club is ranked 165th in South Carolina, while South Charlotte T is ranked 391st in North Carolina).
