Preview: Mendota Aztecs vs. Madera South Stallions
Mendota is 1-8 against Madera South since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Mendota Aztecs will head out on the road to face off against the Madera South Stallions at 6:30 p.m. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Last Friday, Mendota came up short against Immanuel and fell 38-31. Mendota has not had much luck with Immanuel recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Meanwhile, Madera South also suffered a loss in their last game, but this one to Edison by a score of 61-48. Madera South has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The losing side was boosted by BRIANNAH LORTA, who scored 25 points. The game was her seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was MAYRILIN VASQUEZ, who scored 10 points.
Their wins bumped Mendota to 5-3 and Immanuel to 3-1.
Mendota came up short against Madera South in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, falling 45-39. Thankfully for Mendota, Mayra Ceballos (who scored 16 points) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
