Basketball Game Preview: Templeton Eagles vs. San Luis Obispo Tigers

The Templeton Eagles will face off against the San Luis Obispo Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Templeton came up short against Arroyo Grande on Tuesday, falling 71-46. Templeton has struggled against Arroyo Grande recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, San Luis Obispo entered their match against Atascadero on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. San Luis Obispo fell just short of Atascadero by a score of 60-57. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Tigers came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 96th, while the Greyhounds are ranked 292nd).

Templeton's loss dropped their record down to 12-10. As for San Luis Obispo, their defeat ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 16-5.

Templeton came up short against San Luis Obispo in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 62-56. Can Templeton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
