Baseball Recap: Snowflake Extends Winning Streak to Four

Snowflake extended their winning streak to four on Tuesday, bumping them up to 14-7-1. They came out on top against the Holbrook Roadrunners by a score of 6-2. That's more bragging rights for the Lobos, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Kyler Matthews made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Edge Bryant, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Kasen Rogers, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

As for Holbrook, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-13 record this season. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

On Holbrook's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Justin Maestas, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Looking ahead, Snowflake will challenge Kingman at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Holbrook will be paying especially close attention to the Lobos' matchup: after the Lobos face off against the Bulldogs, they'll take on Holbrook again at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
