Flag Football Recap: Vista Ridge Comes Up Short

Vista Ridge dropped to 6-6 on Wednesday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins at home. They had to suffer through a 47-6 loss at the hands of The Classical Academy Titans. The defensive woes were uncharacteristic for the Wolves, who until this game were averaging 14.67 points allowed.

Aubrey Leong threw for 80 yards on eight of 14 attempts. Bella Blaisdell was her top target, picking up 36 receiving yards.

As for The Classical Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 9.0 points on average over those games.

Kelsey Peterson produced another solid effort throwing for 314 yards and seven TDs while completing 81.6% of her passes. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in passer rating (144.1). Ellie Baldini was another key player, picking up 85 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Looking ahead, Vista Ridge will be playing at home against Air Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Kadets' defense has only allowed 13.6 points per game this season, so the Wolves' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for The Classical Academy, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 31-0 win against Fountain-Fort Carson on the 4th.
