Basketball Recap: Drey Mcclatchey Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Tri-Central

Taylor lost to Tri-Central back in February of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Taylor Titans snuck past the Tri-Central Trojans with a 46-41 win. Given the Titans' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 151st, while the Trojans are ranked 349th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Taylor got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Drey Mcclatchey out in front who went 7-for-10 en route to 18 points along with five assists and four steals. What's more, Mcclatchey also posted a 70% shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Javionne Harris, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 17 boards.

Taylor's record is now 14-5. As for Tri-Central, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season.

Taylor wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 43-40 loss against Tipton on the 15th. As for Tri-Central, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 48-33 defeat against Eastbrook on the 15th.
