Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Buckingham). They claimed a resounding 86-52 victory over the Amelia County Raiders. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 48-25.

The win was the fifth in a row for Buckingham, bringing their record for this year to 13-4. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.4 points per game. As for Amelia County, they dropped their record down to 2-13 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Buckingham won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Lunenburg Central at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Buckingham knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight contests -- so hopefully Lunenburg Central likes a good challenge. As for Amelia County, they and Maggie Walker will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played. Amelia County is facing Maggie Walker at the right time seeing as Maggie Walker is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
