Volleyball Recap: Rylee Schimelpfening and Olivia Miles Secure Win for Lamar

Lamar entered their tilt with Simpson Academy on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Cougars. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 last Thursday.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Lamar took every set by at least 14 points. The final score came out to 25-6, 25-11, 25-8.

Leading Lamar to victory were Olivia Miles and Rylee Schimelpfening. Miles had 12 digs and seven aces, while Schimelpfening had seven digs and six kills. That's the most kills Schimelpfening has posted since back in August of 2024.

They weren't the only good servers: Lamar was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 18 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in 14 consecutive contests.

Lamar's record is now 21-5. As for Simpson Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.

Looking ahead, Lamar will square off against Meridian at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Simpson Academy, they will take on Jackson Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
