Football Recap: Norristown Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Norristown had lost seven straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 2-7 to make it eight. They and the Boyertown Bears were almost perfectly matched up, but the Eagles suffered a 14-13 loss. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 308th, while the Bears are ranked 139th).

Gregory Thompson threw for 157 yards and one touchdown. Joseph Melonson was his top target, picking up 86 receiving yards and one score.

As for Boyertown, they now have a winning record of 5-4. The win continues a trend for them in their matchups with Norristown: they've now won four in a row.

Michael Boorse was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 201 yards and a pair of TDs. Those 201 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

Norristown didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 32-27 defeat against Upper Merion Area on the 24th. As for Boyertown, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 49-7 victory against Phoenixville on the 24th.
