Preview: Trinity Lutheran Cougars vs. Rising Sun Shiners
The Trinity Lutheran Cougars will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Rising Sun Shiners at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Trinity Lutheran focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Friday.
Even though Brown County scored an imposing 58 points, Trinity Lutheran still came out on top. Trinity Lutheran strolled past Brown County with points to spare, taking the game 73-58. The victory was just what Trinity Lutheran needed coming off of a 73-39 defeat in their prior matchup.
Trinity Lutheran found their leader in underclassman Marley Warren, who scored 24 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. Warren has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Liza Froedge, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks.
Meanwhile, Rising Sun came up short against South Ripley on Thursday and fell 51-44.
Trinity Lutheran now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Rising Sun, their loss dropped their record down to 7-9.
Trinity Lutheran strolled past Rising Sun in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 by a score of 65-46. Will Trinity Lutheran repeat their success, or does Rising Sun have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
