Volleyball Recap: Portsmouth West Senators vs. Waverly Tigers

Portsmouth West extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping them down to 7-14. They lost 3-0 to the Waverly Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Macey Whisman paced Portsmouth West's offense, picking up eight kills. Whisman got some help from Brayleigh Pistole and her 13 assists. Pistole also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Hailey Carver, each putting up two.

As for Waverly, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. The game was the first time they have beaten Portsmouth West on their court since October 13, 2022.

Waverly found their leader in sophomore Hadley Ramsey, who had 14 digs and five aces. Ramsey is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last six games she's played.

Portsmouth West wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Minford on the 9th. As for Waverly, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against South Webster on the 9th.
