Volleyball Game Preview: Palmdale Falcons vs. Rosamond Roadrunners

The Palmdale Falcons will head out on the road to square off against the Rosamond Roadrunners at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Palmdale has now lost 13 straight dating back to last season, leaving the team hunting for their first win since April 1.

Palmdale came up short against Palmdale Academy Charter School on Friday, falling 3-0.

Palmdale may have fallen short, but they were sure consistent: they scored 16 points in every single set they played. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-16, 25-16.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Abel Lopez, who had five aces and four digs. Those five aces gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Gerardo Asij, who had 16 digs and two aces.

Lopez wasn't the only good server: Palmdale was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 35 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces every time they've taken the court this season.

Meanwhile, Rosamond was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Antelope Valley.

The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-16, 24-26, 25-17.

Rosamond's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Palmdale, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 0-3.

Palmdale beat Rosamond 3-1 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Palmdale since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
