Football Recap: Altus' Undefeated Season over After Eight Games

After flying high against Noble last Thursday, Altus came back down to earth. The Bulldogs took a 41-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Guthrie Bluejays on Friday. The contest marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Despite the loss, Altus still got an impressive performance from Jeymon Reed, who threw for 228 yards and two TDs.

Guthrie's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zane Thomas, who rushed for 75 yards and a pair of scores. Another player making a difference was Daelon Rice, who rushed for 60 yards and one touchdown.

Having lost for the first time this season, Altus fell to 7-1. As for Guthrie, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-1.

Altus has already played their next game, a 51-8 win against Lawton on the 31st. As for Guthrie, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 47-42 loss against Carl Albert on the 31st.
