Malachi Sewell posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Tuesday. He struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits (and not a single walk), good enough for us to rate the performance as the best he's had all season long. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

Sewell's strong effort led Shoals Christian over Waterloo and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
