Football Game Preview: Oakdale vs. Damascus Hornets

Oakdale will challenge the Damascus Hornets on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Oakdale's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed last Friday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 49-0 win over Tuscarora. Winning may never get old, but Oakdale sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.

Alex Rodriguez went supernova, rushing for 29 yards and a pair of TDs, while also throwing for 72 yards and two touchdowns.

Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Damascus walked away with it. They blew past the Rams 42-6 on Friday. 42 seems to be a good number for the Hornets as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

Oakdale's win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Damascus, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3.

Everything came up roses for Oakdale against Damascus in their previous matchup back in September, as the team secured a 43-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Oakdale since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
