Softball Recap: Boyertown Comes Up Short

Boyertown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Spring-Ford Rams. The Bears were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Rams earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

Aubrey Kern made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Lindsay Mathias also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Boyertown's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Spring-Ford, they pushed their record up to 12-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Boyertown will challenge Owen J. Roberts at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wildcats' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Bears' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Spring-Ford, they will take on Methacton at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
