Basketball Game Preview: Livermore Cowboys vs. De La Salle Spartans

Livermore is 0-10 against De La Salle since January of 2015 but things could change on Thursday. The Livermore Cowboys are taking a road trip to challenge the De La Salle Spartans at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Livermore fought the good fight in their overtime match against California on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 62-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Grizzlies. The Cowboys' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Meanwhile, De La Salle entered their tilt with Foothill on Tuesday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They took their game with ease, bagging a 73-40 victory over the Falcons. The Spartans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 contests by 26 points or more this season.

De La Salle's win bumped their record up to 20-3. As for Livermore, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-9.

Livermore took a serious blow against De La Salle when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 84-44. Can Livermore avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
