Basketball Recap: Marian Catholic Takes a Loss

Marian Catholic lost against Nativity BVM back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Marian Catholic fell 57-50 to the Nativity BVM Green Wave. Marian Catholic has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Marian Catholic lost, don't look at Rocco Griguoli. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Gregory Tirpak, who posted eight points and eight boards.

Even though they lost, Marian Catholic smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in six consecutive matchups.

Noah Dolbin was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds for Nativity BVM. The team also got some help courtesy of Layne Pasker, who went 6 for 8 on his way to 13 points.

Marian Catholic now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Nativity BVM, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marian Catholic will square off against Schuylkill Haven at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Marian Catholic is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.3 points per game this season. As for Nativity BVM, they will face off against Weatherly at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Weatherly will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Nativity BVM surely won't give up without a fight.
