Basketball Game Preview: Valley Christian Defenders vs. Maranatha Minutemen

The Valley Christian Defenders will head out to face off against the Maranatha Minutemen at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Last Tuesday, Valley Christian was beaten by Heritage Christian 72-33. The defeat continues a trend for the Defenders in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now lost five in a row.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Maranatha). They claimed a resounding 103-29 victory over Whittier Christian. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Minutemen.

Maranatha has also been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 9-14 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.0 points per game. As for Valley Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 10-14.

Valley Christian came up short against Maranatha in their previous meeting on January 3rd, falling 61-51. Can Valley Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
