Volleyball Recap: Strathmore Extends Winning Streak to Three

Strathmore entered their tilt with Selma on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Bears. This was payback for the Spartans, who suffered a 3-2 loss the last time these two teams met.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Strathmore took every set by at least 12 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-5, 25-13.

Hannah Jones paced Strathmore's offense, picking up 16 kills. Jones got some help from Pearl Johnson and her 22 assists. Jones was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Strathmore's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Selma, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Strathmore will venture away from home to take on Porterville at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Selma, they will head out to face off against Woodlake at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
