Volleyball Recap: Florin Takes a Loss + How To Watch

After flying high against Johnson on Monday, Florin came back down to earth. The Panthers lost 3-0 to the Armijo Royals on Wednesday. The Panthers have struggled against the Royals recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

While Florin was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Armijo's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-16, 27-25.

Lovely Thao paced Florin's offense, picking up six kills. Thao got some help from Jesse Lee and her seven assists. Diane Iakopo controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Florin's defeat dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Armijo, their win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-3.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Florin will take on rival Foothill at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Armijo is set to square off against their familiar foe West Campus at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
