Volleyball Recap: Archbishop Riordan Takes a Loss

Archbishop Riordan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 3-1 to the St. Ignatius College Preparatory Wildcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

While Archbishop Riordan ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 20 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 18-25, 25-23, 25-20.

Lauren Nip was a one-woman wrecking crew For St. Ignatius College Preparatory. as she had 32 digs and two aces. That's the most digs Nip has posted since back in September. The team also got some help courtesy of Megan Low, who had nine digs and three aces.

Archbishop Riordan's defeat dropped their record down to 10-13. As for St. Ignatius College Preparatory, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-9 record this season.

Archbishop Riordan has already played their next match (against Presentation), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. St. Ignatius College Preparatory also has no score uploaded for their next matchup, this one against Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory.
