Soccer Recap: Providence Day Comes Up Short

After soaring to five goals the game before, Providence Day was a bit more limited in their game on Monday. They fell just short of the Cannon Cougars by a score of 2-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Cannon this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-1 back in August.

Providence Day's goal came courtesy of Max Shearer, who's now up to five this season.

Providence Day has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for Cannon, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-5-1.

Providence Day has already played their next contest, a 7-0 win against Charlotte Christian on the 18th. As for Cannon, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Charlotte Country Day School at 7:00 p.m. on the 25th.
