Basketball Recap: Clearwater Valley Comes Up Short

Clearwater Valley lost against Lapwai back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Clearwater Valley Rams took a blow against the Lapwai Wildcats, falling 85-39. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked 104th, while the Wildcats are ranked 30th).

Clearwater Valley's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sypress Martinez, who posted 15 points. Those 15 points gave Martinez a new career-high. Seirra Logan was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Madden Bisbee was her usual excellent self, going 11 of 16 on her way to 23 points and five steals for Lapwai. The team also got some help courtesy of Amasone George, who went 8 for 10 en route to 18 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals.

Clearwater Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Lapwai, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-3.

Clearwater Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 53-34 loss against Kendrick on the 1st. As for Lapwai, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 68-19 win against Troy on the 1st.
