Basketball Game Preview: Miramar Patriots vs. Community School of Naples Seahawks

After both having extra time off, the Miramar Patriots and the Community School of Naples Seahawks will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Two weeks ago, Miramar needed a bit of extra time to put away Reagan. They managed a 58-53 victory over the Bison. The win was familiar territory for the Patriots who have now won three matchups in a row.

The match pitted two dominant guards against one another in Joshua Skinner and Sebastian Gonzalez. Skinner had a great game and dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds. Meanwhile, Gonzalez was balling out in the loss, putting up 18 points and seven boards.

Meanwhile, Community School of Naples posted their closest victory since December 22, 2023 last Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Oasis 65-62. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Seahawks have posted against the Sharks since December 8, 2017.

Community School of Naples pushed their record up to 6-5 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.4 points per game. As for Miramar, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.
