Baseball Game Preview: Johnston Panthers vs. East Greenwich Avengers

The Johnston Panthers will head out to face off against the East Greenwich Avengers at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Johnston is looking for their season's first victory.

Johnston came up short against Chariho on Monday, falling 8-1.

Johnston saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jayvin Adamo, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.

Meanwhile, East Greenwich was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of West Warwick.

Johnston's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for East Greenwich, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.

Johnston took their win against East Greenwich when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 13-5 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
