Soccer Game Preview: Normal University vs. Metamora + Official Tickets

The Normal University Pioneers will take on the Metamora Redbirds at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Normal University managed to keep up with Peoria Notre Dame until halftime on Saturday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Pioneers came up short against the Irish, falling 4-1. While losing is never fun, Normal University can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 137th, while Peoria Notre Dame are ranked 28th).

Meanwhile, Metamora and Normal Community finished up on equal footing with a 1-1 draw on Thursday.

The Redbirds' goal came courtesy of John Jones, who's now up to two this season.

Normal University has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-10-4 record this season. Metamora's draw gives them a new season record of 9-6-5.
