Baseball Game Preview: ThunderRidge Grizzlies vs. Valor Christian Eagles

The ThunderRidge Grizzlies will square off against the Valor Christian Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Last Tuesday, ThunderRidge didn't have quite enough to beat Ralston Valley and fell 7-5. That's two games in a row now that the Grizzlies have lost by exactly two runs.

Shane Christy made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Colton Lien also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Valor Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Heritage, falling 13-3.

Colin Kersten was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Travis Kenz, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

ThunderRidge has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Valor Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.
