Football Game Preview: Mendota Trojans vs. Erie-Prophetstown Panthers + How To Watch

The Mendota Trojans will venture away from home to challenge the Erie-Prophetstown Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mendota has given up an average of 26.6 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Mendota is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 45 points last Friday, they were much more limited against Princeton on Friday. They took a blow against the Tigers, falling 48-10. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 347th, while the Tigers are ranked 156th).

Meanwhile, Erie-Prophetstown gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener last Friday. They secured a 42-36 W over Riverdale.

Mendota's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Erie-Prophetstown, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.

Mendota was dealt a bruising 37-7 loss at the hands of Erie-Prophetstown in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Trojans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
