Baseball Recap: American Canyon Find Success

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only American Canyon walked away with it. They came out on top against the Head-Royce Jayhawks by a score of 6-2 on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wolves.

Cole Gholar was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and three RBI. He is becoming a predictor of American Canyon's success: when he posts at least three hits the team is undefeated (and 10-14 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Andre Lopez, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

American Canyon's win bumped their record up to 13-14. As for Head-Royce, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-7.

Looking ahead, American Canyon will challenge Clear Lake at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cardinals will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Wolves surely won't give up without a fight. Head-Royce does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
