Baseball Game Preview: Washington Eagles vs. South San Francisco Warriors

The Washington Eagles will venture away from home to face off against the South San Francisco Warriors at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Washington will be strutting in after a win while South San Francisco will be coming in after a defeat.

Washington is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on The Academy - San Francisco with a sharp 24-0 victory on Thursday. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Wolves recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Nick Wilson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (zero). He was even better at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. In other batting news, Washington let Andrew Kim and Liam Troy run wild. Meanwhile, South San Francisco suffered their closest loss since April 10, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of Harker by a score of 5-3. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

South San Francisco saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gabriel Martin, who scored a run while going 3-for-4. Giovanni Bernal was another, going 3-for-4 with one RBI.

South San Francisco now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Washington, their record is now 3-4.

Washington couldn't quite get it done against South San Francisco in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 as they fell 9-4. Can Washington avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
