Softball Recap: Peniel Baptist Academy Wins Going Away Against Countryside Christian

Peniel Baptist Academy's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They put the hurt on the Countryside Christian Minutemen with a sharp 17-4 victory. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matches by ten runs or more this season.

Alexis Peacock was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, McKenzie Zurn was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. What's more, she posted three hits, the most she's had since back in February of 2024. Allison Peacock was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while going 3-for-5.

Peniel Baptist Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Countryside Christian only posted an OBP of .385.

Peniel Baptist Academy's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Countryside Christian, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Peniel Baptist Academy will take on Trinity Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Trinity Christian Academy's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Peniel Baptist Academy's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Countryside Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Eastside at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Eastside has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.4 runs per game on average), something Countryside Christian will no doubt try to take advantage of.
