Softball Recap: Thunderridge Wins Going Away Against Douglas County

ThunderRidge hadn't done well against Douglas County recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Grizzlies put the hurt on the Huskies with a sharp 16-6 win. That's more bragging rights for the Grizzlies, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Leah Barbee and Aubrey Conant did most of the damage at the plate: Barbee got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Conant went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Conant has posted since back in September. Reagan Lodden was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

ThunderRidge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .435. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Douglas County only posted a batting average of .263.

The victory snapped ThunderRidge's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-12 record. As for Douglas County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. ThunderRidge is set to face off against their familiar foe Rock Canyon at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Douglas County will square off against rival Heritage at 3:30 a.m. on Thursday.
