Basketball Game Preview: Wabash Apaches vs. Mississinewa Indians

The Wabash Apaches will venture away from home to face off against the Mississinewa Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Wabash is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Culver Academies on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Apaches were outmatched by the Eagles and fell 54-21. Having soared to a lofty 60 points in the game before, the Apaches couldn't push the score so high this time.

Despite the defeat, Wabash had strong showings from Bryleigh Boggs, who posted nine points, and Haylee Friend, who had seven points. Logan Wright was another key player, putting up two points along with five boards and three steals.

Meanwhile, Mississinewa didn't have quite enough to beat Western on Tuesday and fell 48-45. The Indians haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Mississinewa's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Wabash, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Wabash strolled past Mississinewa when the teams last played back in November of 2024 by a score of 55-40. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Apaches since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
