Acadiana has gone 8-2 against Carencro recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Rams will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bears at 7:00 p.m. Acadiana will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
Acadiana had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 28-point drubbing they dealt Sam Houston on Friday. The Rams really took it to the Broncos for the full four quarters, racking up a 49-21 win. The Rams might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by 21 points or more this season.
Acadiana's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Troy Kennerson, who rushed for 81 yards and one touchdown. Kennerson really tore up the turf during one magnificent 74-yard run. The team also got some help courtesy of Collin Dibetta, who gained 117 total yards and three touchdowns.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Acadiana was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 308 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 182 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Another reason for the win was Acadiana's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Darryus Mckinley was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself. He is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made five or more in each of the last six games he's played.
Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Carencro's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a blow against Southside, falling 70-35. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Bears have suffered since November 1, 2024.
Acadiana will have to keep a close watch on Chris Baham and Carson Gurzi, a pair of players who had a big impact on Carencro's prior game. Baham rushed for 84 yards and a pair of TDs on only nine carries, while Gurzi threw for 164 yards and two touchdowns.
Acadiana's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Carencro, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 6-3.
