Softball Recap: Hastings Comes Up Short

Harper Creek hit Hastings with a eight-run seventh inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Saxons lost 15-3 to the Beavers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Beavers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-2 on Friday.

Hastings saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ashtyn Denton, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that Denton has hit this season. Another was Sophia Bucher, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Hastings has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-14-1 record this season. As for Harper Creek, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 25-2.
