Baseball Game Preview: Foothill Falcons vs. Hilltop Lancers

The Foothill Falcons will venture away from home to take on the Hilltop Lancers at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

As a matter of fact, Foothill put up the most points they have all season on Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Lowell a 12-0 shutout. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Tyler Straily was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February. Makoa Elliott also deserves some recognition as he scored his first runs of the season.

Foothill kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Hilltop made easy work of Fallbrook on Tuesday and carried off an 11-5 victory.

Foothill has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Hilltop, their record is now 4-8.

Foothill beat Hilltop 3-0 when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Do the Falcons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lancers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
