Football Recap: Commerce Comes Up Short + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Commerce can now relate to. They and the Grandview Zebras were almost perfectly matched up on Friday, but they suffered a 49-48 defeat. The Tigers gained 270 more yards on the day, but it was the Zebras that made the best use of them.

Despite the loss, Commerce still got an impressive performance from Aidan Brown, who threw for 291 yards and four TDs while picking up 14.6 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 93 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 11 carries. Brown has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Marker, who picked up 136 receiving yards and two scores.

Commerce's loss ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 9-3. As for Grandview, their victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-2.

While Commerce had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
