Football Game Preview: North Central Hurricanes vs. Opelousas Catholic Vikings

North Central is 0-10 against Opelousas Catholic since September of 2018 but things could change on Friday. The Hurricanes will head out on the road to square off against the Vikings at 7:00 p.m. North Central has given up an average of 28.5 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

North Central is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 34 points last Friday, they were much more limited against Catholic of Pointe Coupee on Friday. They were outmatched by the Hornets and fell 40-6. While losing is never fun, the Hurricanes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana football rankings (they are ranked 291st, while the Hornets are ranked 130th).

Meanwhile, Opelousas Catholic didn't have quite enough to beat Westminster Christian Academy on Thursday and fell 24-22.

North Central's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Opelousas Catholic, the defeat was their first at home , dropping their record down to 4-2.

North Central took a serious blow against Opelousas Catholic when the teams last played back in October of 2024, falling 55-0. Can the Hurricanes avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
