Salpointe Catholic strolled into their game on Friday with an undefeated record and they left with the same. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Sahuarita Mustangs a 12-0 shutout. 12 seems to be a good number for the Lancers as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Ernesto Bojorquez looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Johnny Abramian and David Driskill did most of the damage at the plate: Abramian scored a run while going 3-for-3, while Driskill scored two runs while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance also gave Driskill a new career-high in doubles (two). Anthony Milo was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Salpointe Catholic was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .609. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .385 or higher in four consecutive contests.

Salpointe Catholic's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-0-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for Sahuarita, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-5-1.

Salpointe Catholic and Sahuarita should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings. The Lancers will square off against Notre Dame Prep at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday with a big rank advantage (5 vs. 90). Meanwhile, Sahuarita (ranked 29th) will meet Walden Grove (ranked 103rd) at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
