Basketball Recap: Faith Baptist Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Faith Baptist Christian Academy played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 68-35 defeat at the hands of the Savannah Athletic Association Jaguars. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Crusaders have suffered since November 23, 2024.

Sophie Sellars and Bella Gray certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Sellars posted 12 points and five assists, while Gray dropped a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.

Chloe McNew had a dynamite game For Savannah Athletic Association., dropping a triple-double with 26 points, ten boards, and 13 steals. Those 13 steals gave McNew a new career-high. Natalie Santos was another key player, shooting 48% from the field en route to 29 points.

This is the second loss in a row for Faith Baptist Christian Academy and nudges their season record down to 0-2. As for Savannah Athletic Association, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Faith Baptist Christian Academy will take on Trinity Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Savannah Athletic Association, they will challenge Lowcountry Wildcats Athletics at 9:00 a.m. on Friday.
