Mother McAuley had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the five-goal drubbing they dealt De La Salle on Wednesday. The Mighty Macs blew past the Meteors 6-1. Given Mother McAuley's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 73rd, while De La Salle are ranked 204th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, IC Catholic Prep lost 9-1 to Timothy Christian on Saturday. IC Catholic Prep were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 5-1.

Mother McAuley's win bumped their record up to 10-7-2. As for IC Catholic Prep, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-10.
